            Everyone wants to just give the AFC to the Patriots. While I agree that on paper the Patriots are the best team in the NFL, I don’t agree that there aren’t other teams that can beat them. The Oakland Raiders are one of the teams that I feel can give the Patriots some major problems. The Raiders are one of the teams this off-season that didn’t make splashy free agent signings (unless you consider the 30+ year old Lynch splashy). They had a great draft and this team was an injured quarterback away from playing in last year’s super bowl. Key Additions: Marshawn Lynch: I’m giving the Raiders this one because I have no faith that bringing in an old ass Lynch will somehow make that offense that much better. This is a pass first offense and Derek Carr makes this team go. Lynch will bring some power and toughness to this offense. I strongly doubt that he will be a 1000-yard rusher this season.                           The 2017 Denver Broncs are an intriguing team. Vance Joseph will be the Broncos 3 rd head coach since Elway has taken over as vice president. John Foxx and Gary Kubiak were both able to get the Broncos to the super bowl, with Kubiak winning one. Joseph will have some big shoes to fill because Broncos fans want to see this team get back to the super bowl. This defense is good enough to win it all but the offense just hasn’t caught up. Key Additions: New Coach: Gary Kubiak stepped down as the Broncos head coach due health reasons. Kubiak was a good offensive mind and got enough out of this offensive unit to win a super bowl. New Head Coach Vance Joseph will have to do the same. Joseph is a former defensive coordinator, runs a tough defensive scheme, and has some horses on this Broncos team.                        The AFC West division is one of the toughest divisions in the NFL. The Denver Broncos are three years removed from winning the super bowl. The Raiders appeared to be legit super bowl contenders, last season, until their hopes crumbled with Derek Carr’s leg. The Kanas City Chiefs have been one of the league’s most consistent teams in the NFL not named the New England Patriots. I understand that they aren’t winning super bowls, or appearing in any for that matter, but they just seem to win 10 games a season and make the playoffs. Then you have the San Diego/LA Chargers! This team seems to catch every possible bad break. Injuries seem to take out one of their key players every year. Phillip Rivers is feeling the pressure to perform at such a high level that he has become a turnover machine. Penalties and other unfortunate events caused this team some close games in 2016.                       With two pre-seasons games under our belts and an entire off-season to digest, it’s time to run down how the NFC will shake out this year. Top Seeded Teams:            The teams in this category are the teams that will be competing for one of the top two spots in the NFC playoff pecking order. These teams appear to be better than all the other teams in the conference. I feel there are three teams that will be competing for the two top spots in the NFC.             Dallas Cowboys are one of the teams that will be in the running for the top spot.                       The Seattle Seahawks are a football juggernaut. They’re a well ran, well coached organization. Like most great teams, they seem to get better every year without spending a ton of money in the offseason. They draft well, getting players that fit their system. The 2017 season should be no different for the Seahawks.             The Seahawks are always a threat to win a super bowl. Pete Carroll is an excellent coach and he believes in his players. He is one of those coaches that will give his players opportunities to earn the job instead of replacing that player with someone on the outside. Carroll also has a laid backed “do your job” approach to coaching. He wants his team to have fun and play hard. This team will have to do better on the offensive side of the ball if they plan to make a super bowl run in 2017.      ...

            The Arizona Cardinals are a team to look out for in 2017. This team-finished top 10 on both offense and defense. The Cardinals are loaded with talent and they can easily win the NFC West division and get the #1 seed in the NFC conference. That will all depend on the shoulder of Carson Palmer.             Just two seasons ago, the Cardinals were in the NFC championships game against the Carolina Panthers. That was a terrible lost for them but many believed that they were just scratching the surface and would be contending for the conference the following season. In 2016, they had a bunch of bad breaks. Injuries hurt this team all season long. Carson Palmer looked like a 37 years old quarterback. The offensive line was terrible at times. Have you ever heard the expression “Addition by Subtraction.”  The Los Angeles Rams embody that expression. Getting rid of that JAG Jeff Fisher instantly made them a better team. Jeff Fisher is the definition of mediocre. Why aren't Steve McNair and Eddie George in the hall of Fame? Without them he would have never made it to a super bowl. I digress. The Rams have a new coach, bringing a new offensive scheme to this organization. It's the Rams so I know it’s hard to get excited for them. They play in a weak NFC West division and if McVay can put a decent offense together with the talented players on this team they can give the Seahawks so go! Sean McVay was the offensive coordinator for the Washington Redskins for the past three seasons. The Redskins had a very potent offense, and he was able to take Kirk Cousins from an interception machine to a top 15 quarterback. McVay has a quick attack offensive scheme that doesn’t require the quarterback to make a ton of reads. He ...

            Parity in any sports league is a good thing, it means that there is competition, throughout the league and not really one dominate team. The San Francisco 49ers don’t have to concern themselves the leagues Parity because they are one of the least competitive teams in the league. Trust me this will be a very short blog!             The 49ers are in rebuild mode. No this isn’t a retool situation, this is a blow it up, burn it down, destroy the entire thing situation. The 49ers won two games last season and was a non-factor in most of those games. They brought a fist year general manager in John Lynch. Lynch then brought in first year head coach Kyle Shannahan.
